You dont have to apply for a jobto use it, andusers will have the option to save their commute preferences on the platform. But the company had some help making this happen.LinkedIn, which welches acquired by Microsoft for $26.2 billion in 2016, has been slowly cross-pollinating features and se rvices with its new owner, and this is the case here. The location and navigation data is being supplied by Bing Maps, Microsofts mapping service that is akin to Google and Apple Maps, by way of its API,TechCrunch reports.Dan Li, a LinkedIn senior product manager who wrote the companys blog post, also reportedly told TechCrunch that users will be able to access Your Commute on their desktop computers in the future. The Your Commute feature could help users get a more realistic perspective on what it would be like to get to and from a new job.
